Social-Emotional Assessment

This type of assessment is typically used to assess children or youth who are displaying behaviors such as:

  • Excessive anxiety or worry
  • Sadness, significant irritability or poor self esteem
  • Peer/Social difficulties
  • Problem Behaviors
  • Symptoms associated with emotional or behavioral disorders
  • Attention Issues
  • Social communication difficulties
  • Emotional regulation difficulties

Psycho-Educational Assessment

This consists of an assessment of psychological aspects of learning and academic skills. Psychological aspects include:

  • Intelligence (cognitive ability)
  • Verbal and visual learning
  • Memory
  • Attention/concentration
  • Visual-motor integration (eye-hand coordination for pencil-paper tasks)
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • After Planning and organizational skills
  • Executive Functioning (working memory, flexible thinking, self-control)
  • Behaviour Rating Scales (parent and teacher)

Academic skills include:

  • Reading (phonetic skills, sight vocabulary, reading comprehension & fluency)
  • Writing
  • Spelling
  • Mathematics (calculation skills & word problems)
