Servicing Port Perry, the Durham region and surrounding areas

About Us

Our mission is to provide adolescent and child counseling and educational support services to families in Port Perry, Durham and surrounding regions, including the assessment and treatment of various mental health concerns and learning difficulties.

Helen Daymond is the founder of ACCESS psychology. She is a registered psychologist who has been working with children, teens and families for over 15 years. After practicing as a Registered Psychologist in Calgary, Alberta for 10 years, Helen, her husband and their 4 children moved to Ontario where she registered with the College of Ontario Psychologists. For the past 7 years she has been working in private practice settings in the York and Durham Regions.

As a member of several multi-disciplinary teams comprised of Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Behaviour Specialists, Helen provided Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She also supervised teams of community service providers as they delivered psychological/behavioural supports to these families. Helen feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work together with other therapists from a variety of disciplines, offering different areas of training and expertise. It was this experience that inspired her to establish a multi-disciplinary team of professionals at ACCESS psychology. Utilizing a child-centred approach, Helen and her team co-ordinate services as they identify and respond to the individual needs of each child/teen they work with.
